Affirmation Cards for me are like mini love letters and bold, power statements of love! I strongly believe that every word we speak has the power to make or break us. This is why we should take extra care with the words that leave our mouth and speak only to uplift and edify, not to tear down or belittle. Looking at it from a spiritual standpoint, the bible states in more than one place in the bible that:
"A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him." - Proverbs 12:14.
"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." - Proverbs 15:1.
"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therin is a breach in the Spirit." - Proverbs 15:4.
"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." - Proverbs 16:24.
"The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook." - Proverbs 18:4.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." - Proverbs 18:21.
"There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel." - Proverbs 20:15.
"For by the words thou shalt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." - Matthew 12:37.
"For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." - Mark 11:23.
I could post all day because there are literally that many scriptures, but I believe you get my point! Let me tell you a little story about the power of our words it is a personal account from mine and my daughter's life.
Now we hail from a religious family, we believe in God and we strive to live a life that is pleasing to Him. When my daughter and I became homeless in 2017 we experienced the most difficult battle we have ever faced. From 2017 to 2019 we had moved from 1 problematic property to another, (you can read our full story regarding this on my website here: https://www.theresilientmum.com/post/our-story-of-homelessness) and as a result we had lived in 7 different properties.
During that time I was SO angry, I was fed up, I felt so down, but I continued fighting, I continued praying and I continued believing. I would be lying if I said it was not difficult, yes it was challenging and yes I wanted to give up and forget everything, I was wondering why God was allowing this all to happen, but you see it was all a part of our testimony. Something in me changed late last year and I had, had enough because the last property we moved into had a serious condensation and mould problem which destroyed a lot of our things.
I started to fight back like never before, God affirmed me and in return I continued to affirm myself and my daughter. Though I have always done this, this time it was different. My daughter and I were praying different kind of prayers. My little prayer warrior was praying, rebuking what was happening and speaking power statements into the atmosphere. I watched her in awe and smiled because despite all that we had faced she was still a little powerhouse. Our family, church family and loved ones were also praying for us during this time.
In January 2020, my daughter and I created vision boards and on it we glued pictures of the kind of property we wanted. After we did this, we prayed over what we wanted. We prayed about our housing situation and we continued to speak what we desired into existence. When we were finally blessed with exactly what we were seeking, I cannot tell you how excited we both were. Elated, grateful and ever so humbled by the magnificent power of the Lord.
You see in our story, God had to get the glory because He did SO many things for us. Even down to the property we now live in, it was all God. It has His name written all over it. There were some other things that God did too and I just look back and smile because I know it was Him!
You may not be a believer, you may have your own personal beliefs, but I do hope that you take away from this post that your words can change your life! Do not look in the mirror and call yourself unkind names, do not tell yourself that you are not smart enough or not good enough. Listen, you can do ANYTHING! When God created you, He created someone magnificent. You require validation from NOBODY! You are a Queen and I always want you to know that.
Now, do you believe your words have power?!
Do you believe that you have the power to change any situation in your life around?
I believe you can and I believe you will! Most importantly I would like you to believe that you can. Using my affirmations have changed my life, they have helped me to channel my energy and they have reminded me continuously that I can and I will do everything. Once your mindset changes, you will believe that you can conquer anything.
